Compulsory External Work Experience Internship from the Legal Clinic for Social Justice of the UPV/EHU

The setting-up of the Legal Clinic for Social Justice within the Faculty of Law of the Basque Country University (UPV/EHU) in the academic year 2016/2017 has brought along a new teaching methodology in Law and Criminology, as well as a new way of learning that will enable the students to become agents for social change, critical and committed with the improvement of the society in which they live. In the face of the above, this paper aims to look at this new teaching-and-learning methodology as applied to the mandatory external internships at the Legal Clinic. After doing this, the goal is to define the specific competences that should be acquired within this new understanding of Mandatory External Internships, which is a core subject of both the Law degree and the Criminology degree at the Faculty of Law of the Basque Country University.
