Teniendo como base un trabajo de campo etnográfico, este artículo explora el sistema de nombramiento del personal que trabaja para las ministras y ministros de la Suprema Corte de Justicia mexicana, particularmente de sus Secretarios de Estudio y Cuenta, y lo analiza como el origen de un mecanismo que asegura la reproducción judicial entendida como reproducción de una determinada cultura jurídica. La hipótesis es que este sistema de nombramiento, basado en la “confianza”, implica un proceso pedagógico cotidiano a través del cual los Secretarios aprenden a reproducir la cultura jurídica de las ministras o ministros para quienes trabajan, y que está atravesado por un juego de posicionamientos y una economía del capital relacional de los Secretarios que determina quiénes únicamente pueden reproducir estas ideas, y quiénes pueden opinar o incluso hacer propuestas directas a las ministras y ministros.
Based on ethnographic fieldwork, this article explores the system for appointing staff working for the justices of the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice, particularly its clerks, and analyzes it as the origin of a mechanism that ensures judicial reproduction understood as the reproduction of a certain legal culture. The hypothesis is that this system of appointment, based on “trust”, involves a pedagogical process through which clerks learn to reproduce the juridical culture of the ministers for whom they work, and which is crossed by a set of positions and an economy of the relational capital of clerks that determines who can only reproduce these ideas, and who can express their opinions or even make direct proposals to the justices.
