Gender and repression: the case of Francoism. An approach to symbolic repairs from the perspectives of critical museology and historical memory
Keywords:

In the present work we present an approach to some hypothetical symbolic reparations from the perspectives of critical museology and historical memory, regarding the relationship between gender and Franquism. Women were one of the most vulnerable population groups during this time, implying the systematic violation of their human rights. Therefore, we analyze the reparation process carried out based on transitional justice and historical memory as pillars of the theoretical framework. We resort to legal aspects referring to the victims in armed conflicts and a first approach to a possible symbolic reparation project is developed, from the view of critical museology, which can be beneficial both for the direct victims and society as a whole.
