Resumo

El proceso de transformación digital de las fronteras exteriores europeas y, especialmente la capacidad de inferencia de los sistemas de IA ha cambiado la forma de anticipar, controlar y frenar los flujos migratorios hacia la Unión Europea. No solo gracias al empleo generalizado de herramientas predictivas, sistemas de identificación y categorización biométrica en remoto sino también por medio de la creciente puesta en práctica experimental de diferentes softwares algorítmicos. Si bien la miríada de aplicaciones tecnológicas y sistemas avanzados en IA responde a la necesidad o justificación “objetiva” de dar una respuesta eficiente y sostenible a la gestión fronteriza de la inmigración y del asilo. Esta pretendidamente inocua transformación “inteligente” de los confines fronterizos (smart borders) contribuye desde un afán securitario a activar la reproducción ilimitada de estereotipos sobre migraciones (in)deseadas.
