The focus of this article is to investigate what the authorities and/or administrative and judicial personnel understand about the lack of family protection for children and adolescents in a pluricultural country such as Peru. For this purpose, a short fieldwork is carried out in the city of Ayacucho, located in the Central Andes of Peru, where the Quechua culture is predominant and where the existence of structural social causes that limit the resolution of cases of lack of family protection by the administrative and judicial authorities can be verified.
