The articles included in this special issue explore different facets of the border spectrum, seeking to uncover and understand part of the complex reality unfolding in border zones and in delocalized border practices. In shaping this special issue, particular emphasis has been placed on bringing into dialogue academic perspectives emerging from different fields of knowledge, with the aim of articulating an interdisciplinary approach from which to critically interrogate the exercise of control and surveillance over borders, while also attending to the practices of organization and resistance developed by migrants. This introduction unpacks the rationale behind the workshop, outlines its objectives, and presents the collection of works published in this special issue.
