This study rests on a critical analysis of the key objectives and significance of alternatives to imprisonment at both the international and Kazakh legal levels. The study explores the available evidence on the effectiveness of alternatives to imprisonment. The exploration of this topic is indispensable for the formulation of a comprehensive, ethical, and economically sustainable criminal justice framework that aligns with international norms and takes into account the unique characteristics of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Such an endeavor would contribute to the refinement of law enforcement procedures and the overall enhancement of the legal system.
