The production of jurisdictional identity
The judicial career in dispute in the face of judicial constitutional reform

This article investigates the processes of identity production and emotional relationships within the Mexican Federal Judiciary (PJF), analyzing the role that bureaucratic labor dynamics, social relations, institutional hierarchies, and pedagogical processes play in the formation of a state identity infrastructure. The results and reflections presented here stem from ethnographic fieldwork and semi-structured interviews conducted during the PJF workers' strike, which lasted from August to December 2024. This work contributes to the literature of state anthropology by establishing a framework for understanding the production of bureaucratic identities, proposing the concept of a "state identity infrastructure."
