The Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa has jurisdiction over the care of elderly dependents in the territory. The implementation and management of specialized services in this sector in collaboration with social initiatives is one of its foundations. This article describes the public-private partnerships in the province of Gipuzkoa and tests the potential of the partnership model as a tool for adaptation of public administration to new needs arising from increased life expectancy in the population.
La Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa tiene la competencia sobre la atención de las personas mayores dependientes en el territorio. La puesta en marcha y gestión de los servicios especializados en este sector tiene como uno de sus fundamentos la colaboración con la iniciativa social. Este artículo tiene como objeto la descripción de la colaboración público-privada en el territorio de Gipuzkoa, y testar las potencialidades del modelo del partenariado, como instrumento de adecuación de la administración pública ante el surgimiento de nuevas necesidades derivadas de una mayor esperanza de vida en la población.
